Spring arrives in the mountain forest

When spring arrives, montane forests change progressively. Hazelnuts, goat willows and aspens open their flowers. In the floor, some herbaceous plants do the same before the canopy develops leaves and shadows them. One of those early spring flowers is the common hepatica. Some time ago, usually a month, another species in the same familly opens it’s particular green flowers: the stinking hellebore.​
